Hi,

Now that spring has apparently arrived, the project we began working on last year has drawn to a close.

Kunst für Künstler, a project funded by the Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft in Nordrhein-Westfalen, offered free portrait shoots to solo artists from the world of theater and music, with a view to giving them new material and content to use for getting back to work when the lockdown came to an (or was supposed to) end.

Following our initial call to action over Facebook, we were totally surprised by the massive amount of applications we had from artists across the state wanting to be involved. Sadly, we had to turn down most applications; but, those who we selected to be involved are already out there distributing their new images!

It’s our hope that we will be able to secure the funding to take this project further, albeit with a few tweaks, into the summer of 2021.

Hallo,

nachdem nun angeblich der Frühling begonnen hat, haben wir unser im letzten Jahr gestartetes Projekt beendet.

Unter dem Namen Kunst für Künstler, gefördert durch ein Stipendium des Ministeriums für Kultur und Wissenschaft in Nordrhein-Westfalen, haben wir Solo-Künstler:innen aus den Bereichen Musik und Theater ein kostenloses Porträt-Shooting ermöglicht. Ziel war es, den Künstler:innen neues Material in Form von Fotos an die Hand zu geben, damit diese sich mit aktuellen Bildern für die Zeit nach der Pandemie neu positionieren können. Nun ja, nach der Pandemie ist ein weitläufiger Begriff.

Auf Facebook haben wir einen Aufruf gestartet, die Resonanz war überwältigend, wir mussten am Ende eine Auswahl treffen, wir konnten leider nicht Alle fotografieren. Danke an dieser Stelle noch einmal an Alle, die sich beworben haben und an Alle, die mitgemacht haben. Diejenigen, die wir fotografiert haben, haben ihr Material mittlerweile zur Verfügung und können (hoffentlich) bald durchstarten!
