Well, sort of anyway!
Last week saw the beginning of the Open Air Cinema season in Essen.
Operated by the Lichtburg Cinema (which by the way highest visitor capacity single-screen cinema in Germany), the open air cinema is set in the grounds of Essen Cathedral.
On opening night, cinema-goers treated to a screening of Baz Lurhmann’s ‘Elvis’.
To the pleasure of all attending, the man himself (well, an impersonator of course) was there to entertain the audience before the film started!
After Oliver Steinhoff finished his great set, the mayor of Essen Thomas Kufen officially opened the open air season!
